The old system was Miles per gallon the new way is Litres per 100km. The easiest way is Kilometers per Litre.
I use a converter program on the computer called ESB Unit Converter which you can download from...http://www.esbconsult.com/esbcalc/esbunitconv.htm
It converts MPG to KpL to L/100K.

Location: JIMBOOMBA QLD.
Work it out yourself... 1 Km 1.6 Miles and 1 Gallon =4.5 ltr.
