just like all the Hyundai Excels where the owners have painted those pissy little drums some stupid colour and fitted pointlessly big wheels - they're drum brakes, don't show them off!! hide them!!

probably not a lot different to grooved rotors, but you wouldn't exactly use them on a race car would you...
the laser cutter we use can put writing or other patterns in the surface of parts as they cut them out. I think all they do is focus the laser on the surface and turn the gas supply off. Comes out quite nicely - wouldn't last long on brake rotors though
