No offence intended here but--> anyone writing a book about minis 30 years ago may not have experienced such worn or stuffed-with components as we are finding these days.

Paul Gulson is a very reputable person in the Mini scene and I dont think he will advertise some thing falsely. I happen to have seen this engine in question at his workshop. it is exactly what he advertised it to be and I can assure you it is worth every cent that he is asking for it. I can't understand why some people could make comments that can put doubt in potential buyer's heads. If it is not your cup of tea please let others decide for themselves. What does buying a crappy 40 year old Mini Deluxe wiring harness have to do with it, I am sure that the harness was not advertised as a rebuilt item. You get what you pay for.

If you were after a wiring harness in good useable condition IE uncut & unmodified and Paul Gulson said yeah I have one send me the $$$ and you received a piece of crap harness cut and burnt (obvious short) with bare wires hanging out would you be happy? It took about three months of constant demands for a refund, yes I sent the harness straight back after receiving it.
Yes buyer beware. This is why I will never purchase anything from him again and will tell people about my experience will 'GulsonPower'

All this de famation is all about recieving a $10 wiring harness which you got your money re funded back any way. So much for high expectations for a $10 harness. Carefull what you write with your name to it, these words might end you up in deep Pooh. Just warning you. It is all in writing for every one to see. Just friendly advice. I do not need a reply to this. Don't make it worse for yourself.

Might have been a $10 harness (not at Simms metal) but he charged me allot (heaps)more than $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no problem telling my experience with Paul Gulson to anyone. I have copies of emails to/from as well as the photos of the wires sent to me.

gee , i know most of the people in this exchange and have nothing but respect for (most of) them.
i only really have one comment:
most "dealers" are there to make a profit, not neccessarily to help out others in the mini /moke community.

if you bear this in mind you will expect to pay more.

on the other hand, any good businessman would refund or replace asap , if for no other reason that it stops him getting a bad reputation.
the internet has made the world a very , very small place and bad news certainly travels fast.
