In simple terms... Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. This is what gives an item value. Anyway, good luck with the sale.

Well, bids are going up so maybe my numbers are way off. I just have one question: how come the car needs a compliance plate and import papers etc if it was already registered? The photos show it wearing Qld rego plates... Confusing :?

Just in case anyone was watching the Auction -
after much deliberation i ended up Pulling it in the 11th hour
I had a crap load of people with offers and 2 were very close to the 5Mark
But in the end i thought what would make a better story - A 2011 Flood Survivor back from the Dumps
or me getting just another mini some day which had no character or back story.
It was never about the money , more about the Wife who wanted a Garage Back -- she is now convinced that from the interest that the auction generated that the car is worth keeping

so i am thinking now that i want to start accumulating bits and pieces
and will be needed a lot of help - how long this is going to take will really depend on how many people can help in whatever way they can, and how much $$ i can save

so if anyone has the time / passion to get a flood survivor back to life Please let me know.

I can only offer anyone helping who can help with parts / knowledge &/or time with

anything to do with Bathroom Products & Renos / Kitchen Reno's as that is what i do as a business - so if you want a new Kitchen or Bathroom and want to Barter im all ears

I found a 998 Engine & box for sale - big bore upgrade
and he is willing to give it to me for 750$ - would this be a good start

Thoughts?

:D Yeah! Great news. Your trade deal on bathroom/kitchen stuff is tempting as a need to do both :( I'm no mechanic but know my way around some things and can twirl spanners till my knuckles bleed. I may be a contender. As far as the engine, if its a runner in resonable condition, its a good start i reckon. Cheers, Anthony.

Good for you. It will be a special car for you when finished.

I do actually need a bathroom. Mine is a 1969 affair with loose tiles and lemon bath. Sadly I have very few parts to offer and even less time.

The one thing I have is a Rover wiper motor.

Shame you are in QLD... I would swap you my registered, running, complete Rover for a new kitchen and laundry..!!
