You can use a Aluminium pipe .. There is at least one race car here in SA that has one ... you will find that it wont last as long as steel as it will burn away where the extractors meet the aluminium ...

Im still trying to track down Titanium myself there are alot of "of the shelf kits out for skyline/ Lancer evo" but to try and find a 50mm pipe is proving a little hard ... And then comes the problem of welding it ..

Yeah it keeps coming back to price and availability. Titanium pipe and some mandrel bends would be the ducks nuts but getting it in 1" 5/8th or 1" 3/4......good luck. I just figured aluminum is cheap and readily available.
Seeing as it's half the weight of mild steel I figured the race guys would be using it to some extent.

We used a copper zorst pipe on our 1931 Austin 7 paddock basher back in the 70s, it sure sounded nice... :P
These days people would nick yer car to pinch the copper! :roll:
