My daily driver is a 1966 Morris 1100. I know it isn't a mini, it is much better than a mini 8)

You know you're addicted to minis when:
You list "The ausmini crowd" as dependants on your tax return.

I have a 1969 mini matic. Had it on the road since late January this year and have done 8000km in say about 5 months. My kids drive it from Heathcote to Wollongong a few time a weeks.

It always get them home but then again I am aways working on it. Hav ereplace the forward clutch pack a few months ago and am just in the progress to repalcing the head as I have low compression on number 3 cylinder.

The mini matic has done 72500 mile (115000km) I hope to see it with 100000 miles in the next year or so.

Forward clutch pack is the weakest part of an original `matic. If you used the newer kevlar facings this time it'll now last about forever. Just change the oil & filter, often..

I've been trying, trying real hard to use mine as a daily driver, but it doesn't want to. I guess it all comes down to whether the original resto was to a good standard.

My '68 deluxe is a daily driver and I do about 500km a week. So far I have only had to do little things to keep it going but the gearbox is just about stuffed. Jumps out of first sometimes and third is chattery when you back off at high revs.

Mine's a sort of daily driver - when the car is in a good mood that is. I used to have to borrow a car when the Mini broke - sometimes for a long time :) Now we sold that car so I have the Mini and the motorbike as daily transport - whichever one starts

Oh and just BTW, I never have much trouble with my car breaking down by the side of the road with a simple problem. It always breaks very badly (broken gearbox, blown engine etc), but *usually* only does it going up the driveway. Or 120km out of Canberra needing a trailer

65 Deluxe daily driver for 32 years now. Just got its pink slip on Friday for another year. Never been out of rego. Looks a bit ratty but I'm "fixing" that!. The inspector really shook it around this time, even put it up on the hoist. Only thing I was knocked back on was a leak in the extractor to exhaust pipe junction. 10mts and a bit of goo and it was sweet. :D
Dino.

Van, daily drive for the last 5 years plus. 10km to the station and back. But I'm honestly starting to get a bit hacked off with driving it daily.

There is always some little thing going wrong. Like yeterday I went to adjust the brakes and one of the front brake hoses was leaking. They are only two years old! :x Then it needs new front cones, and new oil leaks seems to pop every other week. Finally, second gear is cruching AGAIN just 12 months after a gearbox rebuild!

My Clubby has given me just over 1 year of daily driver bliss. I really do wish I had another car to get around in though. Because It is hard to do serious work to it when I need it every couple of hours

....I often find myself having these awsome upgrade plans only to realise that I won't be able to because I depend on it to much. Ahh well... only 2 years to go and I'll be finished uni...then I will have money... which means :D, and faster mini.
Cheers
