Are all S rods small journal? And are all the gudgeons the same?
In other words wil these fit the 1100s crank?
Thanks

All "S" rods are small journal, so if your 1100s crank is a small journal crank then yes they will fit.

(edited for correctness)

You will notice some of the pistons MED sell come with a bush to convert press fit rods to fully floating, which use a smaller gudgeon pin.

Swiftune's range of omega forged pistons are available with long pins, for press fit, or short pins and clips for floating rods.

So not all gudgeon pins are the same and some piston rod combo's don't work (without modifying). You wouldn't want to buy pistons which use a small pin and bushes and have a floating rod unless you want to replace both bushes with 1 thick one.

Yes S rods are all small journal. Gudgeons are all the same on a 1275.
These rods will bolt straight onto a small journal 1100S crank. But if it's a large journal crank that's been stroked/destroked/reground to S size, the rod is 1/32" too wide to fit.
Need to take ~.016" off each side, same as you would with S rods.

Oops, i should have read the description of those pistons before my previous comment which i will go back and edit.

The 16v MED pistons come with bushes to fit to standard press fit rods. So the gudgeon pin that comes with these pistons is smaller O.D. then normal. So you fit the bushes to your press fit rods and the gudgeon will slide in and out of the piston/rod assembly unless you fit the clips they supply.

The Max Speeding rods already have a little end bush. I am assuming that it is to suit a standard O.D. gudgeon pin (so it's best to actually find out rather then believe me :) ) So i would say no those pistons don't go with those rods.

I would say those pistons go with or any other press fit rod http://www.minis.com.au/minis/catalog/p ... ts_id=1108

Thanks Matt. I'll shoot off a couple of emails, or just use my S rods.

For those who are interested.
The above Omega forged pistons have a 18mm pin
The maxspeed rods have a 20.63mm pin
