Because all GT's came with a thin brake pedal (the first ones with the 9f motor may be an exception)

OK so I put my 2 cents worth in also :?

'Hi there just a bit of freindly advice, please don't take it the wrong way .....Sorry but this is a Mini K YG2S1, not a Cooper S . Mk2 Cooper S has YG2S4 on the compliance plate and there was only 2419 of them made. I would be very careful if I was you ,did you hear about the recent court case ,regarding the fake Falcon GT ?'

THE ENGINE IS BORED OUT TO A 1387cc, WHICH MEANS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE NUMBER HAS BEEN SHAVED OFF.

Is this "1387cc means no engine number" thing legit?

Sounds particularly odd to me.

If the tag is left on and the block is tanked, it will be dissolved. Is also obviously removed if the block surface is machined at all.

No engine number tag on Australian motors. They have to stamp the number directly to the block.

And any good machine shop will take down the number and restamp it if the machine work removes it

On any blocks I deck, the number pad gets left alone. It's not rocket science to do this.

I'm glad someone mentioned this. The number doesn't need machining

The fact remains plenty will whip it off without a care.

I honestly don't understand the kudos/importance that gets attached to engine numbers, given they are so easily tampered with.
