Yeah,I have a dip stick temp sensor. I take dip stick out and touch it on mates leg, if he yelps and jumps back......it's hot. :lol:

We have a Oil scientist in our car club who recently did a talk on oil.

One of the things he talked about was how hard Mini gearboxes are on oil, they basically shred the molecules in the oil which effect the oils viscosity.

So give it an oil change and put some good quality 10-60 in it and see if that makes a difference to your pressure.

By the time its had a few miles through it it will end up as 10-40

Worth a thought

I've got a fluke with an infra red laser beam thing. I just point it to what I want to measure and it does it for me.

If I had enough mirrors I could set it up to read the sump from the lounge room. Thermocouple wires are so 90's...
