My Rover (auto) did this and it ended up being the crank sensor was fused

Replaced crank sensor and she has been happy ever since.

Thats interesting. Normally when a crank sensor goes the car just keeps cranking.
The sensor isn't part of the start circuit.

New battery fixed the problem, I was confused as everything else worked fine, especially the headlights thery were bright and constant, fans and all the other stuff worked as it should, must be a cell gone so there was not enough grunt to turn over the starter, one less problem to give me a headache.

Had asshole tennants do a rinner on us and left me with a bill of about $20,000 in repairs, those pricks have more right than I do, Not happy Jan....They are up in Cairns now, stuffing up someone elses life....

Glad you got your car sorted... and I hear your pain on the other thing. I just coughed up $42,000 getting a house back to livable state after a tenant completely f__ked it all up. He was actually an ex Ausminier too whcih makes the whole thing even more sad. Did you have insurance. I had what I thought to be insurance, but when I called them they then told me that "it was considered malicious and nothing will be paid out"

C__nts.
