Chris,

Checked out my car(s) and both the same. Blue high beam light is on the top of the centre dial between the temp and fuel gauge. All cars I've owned have a blue warning light for the high beam - must be some international standard. The red light on the bottom of the speedo is not used for anything - doesn't even have a bulb in it. Hope this clears things up.

BTW, if you want, I'll scan the owners manual - which is for the Mini Clubman and GT, Mini 1100 and mini Van, produced in 1972 by Leyland Australia and is publication No. TP828A - and send you a copy.

Regards,
Gavin

Yes please I would like a copy. In mine the blue light is at the bottom of the speedo. This instrument panel was not in a car I got it as part of a deal and don't know its history. It certailnly looks standard. The little blue lens looks like it is meant to be there and sits behind tiny plastic clips. All the others are glued in and this would make it difficult to swap them around. Now I don't know what to do as I intended to change the speedo over and this has complicated things. If I had a car to put it in I could try the warning lights to see what happens.

The instruments are the same as in any clubman just the warning lights seem mto differ. Did the poms use the same type of instruments? BTW Gavin I will PM you my email address.
