It will be interesting to see what some wood duck pays for it ,considering that it doesn't have too many original Cooper bits left , Cooper S motor and all , but then again the auction description says it is 'genuine' ,so therefore it must be ............... :?

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Regardless of what it once was it still is a very nice neat and well presented car.
I think the Shannons estimate may be high but if you wanted to build the same car you would probably spend similar money.

Yes I agree its a very nice car and has had a very large amount of money spent on it .
I would rather pay the money for the original ,but thats only my opinion .

Edit : Would you do that sort of thing to a classic car these days , (engine change ,colour change, trim change etc etc etc )
Well I say good luck to the seller if anyone is silly enough to pay that sort of price

I would guess that to some people it wouldn't matter if it was an 850, a Deluxe or a Cooper it would end up with a 1275 and looking like a Cooper S replica.
We don't know when it lost the 997 Cooper bits. It might have been a hard choice between chasing up the right bits or using what was available.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I have a similar fan to the one pictured and to me it looks to the right way around. The fan turns anti clockwise (when viewed from the engine side) and pushes the air through the radiator and out through the inner guard. From memory I double checked before I fitted the fan and it would only fit one way anyway.

You are Correct, The fan is on the right way,
Don't be tempted to change yours!!!
