I am glad to be able to help.

The big question is why its shorting out.

My guess is the green wires have rubbed or melted inside the loom, this mostly happens to old looms.

If you carefully unwind the loom covering from the volt reg back too the fuse box it will be pretty obvious where the issue is. Given its such a short piece of wire i would just change the whole piece with another piece of green wire.

I wouldnt be surprised if there isnt more than one wire damaged. Then you will need to cut, solder and heat shrink the repair.

Please post what the issue was once you do a permanet fix
