What a pathetic display of forum courtesy by some users, grow up guys, the 14 year old appears to be more mature than you.

..Id suggest getting a pro. to check it out, having an incorrectly running carbie isnt good for ure engine. Pretty sure its what finished my engine off in the end.

Get it tuned, THEN learn about them, start fiddling with it once you know what your doing.

Theres plenty of good tutorials on how to tune them on the net, i read a few when I was attempting to tune mine...ended up just getting a friend of a friend to show me how to do it.

what do your parents think of this? why aren't they telling you to get someone who knows what they're doing to sort it out?

because the only way to learn is to do it urself, u dont learn by paying someone to do it, and gee thattle come in handy if it does it in the middle of no where

you've gotta have a starting point.... when I was starting out with minis and morris minors, at about your age, I used to do what I could by myself, I'd watch my dad (or other relative/family friend) and ask him a lot of questions, I'd ask the experts for advice, and I'd get the experts to do it for me and look over their shoulder

I'm 28 now, and I still ask the experts for advice, and when I can't work out what to do, I still get the experts to do it for me.... when I was 14, there wasn't much chance of being stranded alone in the middle of nowhere

the other thing I do a lot is read the manual....

Sean i agree with the coment about there being too much fuel. Keep on doin things yourself, i'ma poor uni student and i keep my mini going by doing it all myself, and i learn a new thing every time i work on the car. Some people think there better because there older then us, and because they can aford to pay people to do all the work. i've seen your car and it looks pretty dam good to me!

Cheers Ryan

well, today a friend told me that his mini has an anti clockwise rotor button movement after thinking long and hard i thought, hang on ive been turning the fan clockwise which means im running the engine the wrong way(go on laugh) so after changing leads 2 and 3 over to the opposite sides meeni burst into life and reved and was driven not by me, and was found to be in tune and has a very strong motor!!! so i am happy now, all my problem is is that the wheels rub the guards under accelaration and cornering, so i need some adjustable shocks, sorry to bring this thread back up but hey im excited :D

No... you need to run your car at a sensible height.
Trust me; i've been there, done that.

hmm yes that would seem the answer, untill i did that and it went down due to craptastic shock absorbers, so new ones will soon be orderd.

AFAIK adjustable shocks will not adjust your ride height, only hi-lo's will and/or new rubber cones will raise it...

shock absorbers do nothing to the ride height, it's the rubber cones - either yours are completely screwed, or you have Hi-Los and they're set too low.
