Greetings All and thanks for the feedback.

Went to MiniSport (Adelaide) and bought a Gunson Easibleeder. $59. Nice looking unit. Easy to set up. Put 15 psi in a spare and followed the instructions, but not fixed yet.

Will bleed the Master Cylinder first tommorow night, then the rest. Might up the pressure slightly.
Will also recheck rear adjusters etc.

MrBeam, 7" disc's on front.

Gggggggggggrrrrrrrr very frustrating. Two years restoring. Booked in for B2B next Sunday! All ready except brakes!

Alex.

Just one note on this - after a comment from another user on here I don't use mine as per the instructions. Rather than fill the bottle with fluid and run pressurized fluid through, I leave it with air only. Works just the same, except you have to keep topping up the MC every now and again. Let it get low and you'll put pressurized air through the lines.

So slightly more screwing and unscrewing, but seems easier to me than messing around with floppy lines dripping brake fluid everywhere.

Me again!!! Ha.
Well, I appretiate all the methods and things to check.

I started with a new master cylinder. New pipe from MC, bought a Gunston easy bleeder. Bought new rear brake shoes and rear brake cylinders. Tightened up everything (adjusters and handbrake)

Bled it a couple times and still have to pump it to get pedal. When it's up, it stays there and will lock it up. However, next time on the pedal there's no brakes.

Took the MC off. Seems to create pressure. Put it back on, still no good. Decided I'll go to a brake place. Topped up fluid Mmmmmmmmm..........theres something floating in the MC? A bit of red plastic. I'm thinking its a dud MC. Might put a kit through it. This foriegn peice may have damaged a seal, or maybe there is more bits in there.

There's nothing red like this in a MC is there??

Good Evening All.

Well, tonite I fitted a brand new (expensive) Master cylinder. The only thing I thought could be the problem.

Bleed, bleed & bleed, no pedal. That's it. Off to a brake place and get them to sort it!!!

I fitted new pipe, MC, rear shoes and rear cylinders. No pedal.

I thought about it. The calipers dont leak. I did nothing to them. I did HOWEVER, assemble the front frame, suspension and motor out of the car! (getting this clue?) I checked the parts list, as R/H parts are usually an even number, and L/H odd numbers. I then looked at a manual and the nipple is at the top!

I mixed up the calipers. They fit either side, but I had the bleed nipples at the bottom. They should be at the top to help the air out! Dam!!! A quick swap and I have a perfect full pedal. I have wasted a week stuffing around with my own mistake.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have learnt a lot.

Cheers
Alex.

PS: Wife is very happy and ready for her first Bay to Birdwood!

A victa / briggs and stratton oil suction pump does the same job as a one man bleeder with the right size tubes

http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/140838499583 or around $20 at bunnings

haze blue 850......sorry but had to chuckle to myself reading your last post - but rest assured I (along with a few others here i suspect!) have had similar mishaps before.

Glad you got it sorted out!
