should i be fine just doing the master for now and keeping the bnew slave as a spare?

I bought a new type Slave Cyl just for the short term , i then had my orig cyl s/s sleeved , i swapped them back over and haven't had a drama for years , the new style cyl sits on the shelf just in case , i also used R clips as well .
