Harley you must be devastated.

So sorry to hear this.

I hope that this experience doesn't change your mind about owning another mini.

Just glad that you yourself are OK. Take it easy.

From what I remember, the windscreen forward is fine, the 'C' pillar back is fine, the passengers door is fine. That's how it looks anyway.
The tree has come into the car somewhere around 8 inches through the drivers door.
Roof and and floor have buckled to suit.
I'm just glad I left the racing seats in the car, that's what saved me.
After somebody stopped to check on me, and told me how fast I was losing fuel, I scrambles out and called a firetruck out in case. They drenched the car in water and filled the tank with foam or something, it then went on a truck and I've not seen it since.

is it worse than this if not this one repaired and almost ready to be re-painted. but this one also rolled before it hit the try so the roof was in.

They are a strong car

Yep, the inside was dry, the ouside was wet and there was spilt gravel and
stuff on the road. My tyres were roadworthy, but I was going to change them
soon anyway, and the rear shocks were showing signs of age too.
Everything together added up.

Here's what remains:
Image

Upon an inspection this morning, the car is in worse condition than I thought.

I have no idea what I will do now.
I can either sell it in parts to attempt to get some of what I've spent on it back, and start again later on when my debts and financial situation gets sorted out. Or, I could reshell it into something else. I was thinking a rover, and retain the 850 badging, grill, etc. but I don't have the money to buy and paint it.
Ideally, I'd like to rebuild it exactly to what it was.
I can't open the bonnet on the car, so I'm not sure of the damage in the engine bay.
I was told a week ago the engine mounts need replacing urgently, so I imagine they sheared off all-together on impact.

Any thoughts guys? What would you be doing in my situation, apart from crying?

Needless to say, that f**king sucks big time. And hope you're ok.

If I was in your situation, I would sell it in parts and start again later, but that's mainly because I personally hate getting into more debt when you are already in enough debt as it is. You could just think, "it'll be even better next time!"

Or if you know you want to start work ASAP on another Mini, then keep the parts. It would be interesting to know what condition the engine is in. Who knows... all you might have really lost is most the body, and not the mechanics. The fact that you can't open the bonnet might just be cause of the fact that the A-panel got tweaked a bit, just jamming it shut. Examine everything carefully and then decide. You may not be ready to build another Mini right away. If that happened to me, I wouldn't have the energy to start again right away.

But whatever you do, don't give up on the Mini!

o dude.. that is bad...

If it were me I would sell it of in parts.. cut your losses and start over when you got the $$ not cool I know.. but having a bigger debt.. at a young age is not cool..

its hard to tell from the pic... but is the bonnet ok?
