Because if you don`t buy local & keep the local guys in business then there won`t be anyone local left to ask questions & get advice & mech help/work if/when you need it

& also there won`t be anyone local left to help you with all the 2nd hand """Aust"""" mini parts

because England & Japan (& nearly everywhere else in the world) Just don`t have much in the way of """Aust""" mini parts

If the Local Aust mini parts & repairs places go down the tube then no-one is left to rely on with regards to 2nd hand parts, service & repairs, advice etc etc etc ... then there will be no-one left to specialize with all the stuff that you can`t do yourself

take your mini to a std issue car repair center & you will get reamed with no lube & sometimes they will even attempt to throw sand on while you`re bent over copping it up the rear with the bill & the poor quality of repairs from apprentices who havn`t a clue what they`re doing

have fun with that

people are still getting confused with this point

It's not just about price it's customer service that is dying. I'm happy to pay say an extra 20% to buy local and have it in my hot little hands the same day, and I'd pay an extra 30% on top of the 20% for good service. I'd even pay more than double on small ticket items (under $100) for good local service.

this is something thats becoming more and more common, not just in mini's but retail in general. im all for supporting local business but if im made to feel like an inconvenience im not going to bother returning which sadly is becoming the case, my local autoshop was great until the owners son took over he was an asshole the first time i went in there as i asked a question about a car part he might know where to get it as i couldnt buy new, needless to say he must of pissed off a heap of people as they went broke less than a year later.

id say if you find a good parts supplier keep in contact, but if people are gonna be dick's about you asking car related questions well stuff em' karma is a bitch
