I actually sourced an exchange column from possibly Mini Kingdom back in the day, it had brand spanking new splines on it. I backed off the two U bolts for the rack and let it roll backwards to suit the angle of the steering column.

That is great, I have well over 300 inner columns that are stripped, It really scares me that a lot of people either do not know what to do or just think it is a lot of bunk, I am constantly amazed how many people are prepared to risk their lives to save a little time it takes to do it properly
