So I spoke to the mechanic, and his main concern was the radiator cowling on the body, that with any engine movement may foul on the radiator and damage it. As you can see in this picture there is little to no room between the body and the rad.

Thats different from the first question then. I wouldnt think it would hit. If in doubt remove the rubbers on the mount and rock the engine.
IMO if it doesnt hit without the rubbers then pretty sure it wouldnt hit with them!

The stabiliser won't make any difference to the rad hitting the body - if anything I would have thought it would help by reducing engine movement. All I would suggest is lossening off the rad bolts, sliding it as far inwards as you can and re-tighten to try and increase that gap a little.

Yeah sorry I kind of misunderstood what he originally meant.

The mechanic thought that with the stainless steel top rad bracket sitting over the top of the stabiliser mount, that it has taken that crease out of the bracket and pushed the radiator over a little. Not sure how you could really avoid that - with the stabiliser on the thermostat housing studs it is a few mm thicker

I have found that if the top hose to the rad is to long it will push the rad into the body.

Is the rad vertical when looking thru the front panel.

Also they where a tight fit against the body from new.

The engine will move forwards and backwards not left to right so you should be right, just keep an eye on it.
