Ben T thanks for the beginners guide to Group A &C... interesting stuff about originality etc.... the handicap Group A and C race at the Qld Winter Historics was a good spectacle... Mr Holden ( of Bathurst mini fame) took the honours..... don't know if all the entrants were trying but it was a fitting result.
In terms of the future of racing, it is going to be a hard balancing act to keep entry fees affordable, grids full and cars/competition realistic.. and i think verifying of engines etc would be quite acceptable by just about all competitors ( fast and not so fast, light and non dieting etc) , however i wouldn't like to see all the tricks revealed ( not cheating but ingenuity should still be rewarded)
I would like to think that on some racetracks some of the time the Group N mini's will do well, whereas on other tracks the bigger boys and girls will run away from the rest of us.. but i also like the idea of just lumping all mini variants together to allow racing, i don't really care if they are honda powered or corolla turb0s or sports sedans or binis (but the jury is still out on mokes:)) , and maybe it is self-organising groups (like a mini only race) that will help keep lots of cars racing.
On this matter , the QLD historic entries - of about 240 entries - the biggest class - regularity, followed by Group N ( 40 something) , 19 Group a and C, which i think are good numbers-
sorry to have taken away from the topic of original thread.. i hope Rocky gets his car racing
