I have those Cobra seats with headrests. The seats look good in the car. But even with the Cobra frames but they don't slide at all. I've had to make adjustable base frames to give a range of height adjustments for the backs of the seat- tilt. The seats are comfortable once in them but are awkward to squeeze into - especially for the driver - between steering wheel and seat edge. Over the past year, the seat bottoms have flattened a bit.

I would not buy these mail order. I did and I deem myself very lucky because mine "fit" (me). I have tried a friend's car with the same seat and it does not fit.... They do (did?) come in different versions (slim fit/chunky fit) and there seems to be a fair bit of Manufacturer's dimensional tolerance involved... I would definitely want to try the seat I was buying for size.

Also, they are a bulky package - shipping is OMG (several times the seat price). Frames are extra...

I find mine quite comfy although they do lay back quite bit and (obviously) there's no adjustment (beyond wedging the rear mounts)

Cheers, Ian

Thanks for the insight! definitely food for thought, I may as well buy them here if postage is going to be ridiculous, and I'd definitely have to check out that place down near Logan to have a sit in them before I purchase.

Fortunately the current seats in the mini aren't roadworthy issue so new seats aren't a necessary upgrade for the time being!

Also fortunately, I'm a skinny bloke, so hopefully fitting in them won't be an issue.. although christmas is coming up so things could change very quickly...

I have these in my Clubman. I'm 6ft, 100Kg, 34" waist. They were a bit tight width wise, but only by the smallest margin, maybe 5mm. I ended up chucking a portapower across where your hips would go, in between the steel rails, and giving them a slight spread. Now they are perfect. I don't have any issues getting in or out of the seats. Obviously a little more finesse is required, and if your lady passenger happens to wear a short skirt, some passers by may get a show they did not expect while she tries to sit in there :P

I recently did a 3hr drive (6hr return) down to Dunsborough in this car and found the seats to be very comfortable on the long trip. The wife didn't complain either (though it is hard to hear her over the weber). The rails are SUPER stiff if you get them. I think they made them, sent everything off to be mass manufactured, then paint the individual parts (very thick coating), and put them back together. Took some time in the vice with some sand paper and WD40 to get them moving properly. Now they work a treat, look the business, quite comfy. Also, I don't know if it's just mine, but if you want people to get in the back, you will need to pull the head rests off to allow them to tilt forward enough.

Cheers,
Keels.

I have also bought these Cobra Clubman from an ebay auction years ago and they are a little worse for wear. I am going to take the top section off before they are re-upholstered, as I can see how they would be a more of a nuisance in regards to getting in and out of the rear seat. The only difference between the low back seat and the high back is that they welded an additional section onto the low back to make it taller.
If I could add a removable head rest of a sensible size that would be my ultimate.
