Its not the length that matters but the way that you use it. If you run out of hp then put your tongue or fingers into action and improve the handling of your mini.

My car was never built with group n specs, it was built as a quick street car without regulations etc. if you look at Chux recent build he made 132hp on grahams dyno without any electric ignition. Ive never been one for historic spec racing and didnt build the engine for that. I did go all out and got a good engine which has been a weekend warrior now for 5 years now and has done plenty of "speed of the street days" without any issues.

Group N is hardly restricted other than bore and stroke, they are running massive cams, massive compression, worked heads, high lift roller rockers not to mention inlet and exhaust mods. Still can't see it producing those numbers accurately. The Tilleys have a great Dyno Dynamics rolling road Dyno down there in Sydney and regularly run up a number of minis. Why don't you drop it on the dyno for a power run and let us know what it makes. That way we can get some idea as to any variance in dyno readings and would help to make this post a little more meaningful.

hi Low N Blown
Why don't you bring one of you motors down to my dyno, put the weights on the dyno an check it out and we'll run your motor up then we'll put one of mine on and we'll compare them, my dyno is within 1 to2 ft lb of torque and hp of the dynos used by Keith Calver and Swift Tune dyno in the UK, for get about the drive on dynos to many variables, i'll pay for your fuel down and back, put you up, and feed and water you, just because you can not make the HP other people may be able to, and that goes for any body who wants to take up the challenge.
May be some of the Victorians might like to take up the challenge in stead of calling us cheats.
Come on Greg the balls in your court, I can hardly wait.
Graham Russell

Hi Graham,
Always good to chat with you.
Thanks for the offer to come down and enjoy your hospitality but it makes far more sense to do what I suggested and put the roady that makes over 140 on your dyno on Tilleys rolling road. Doesn't involve me travelling, removing my engine etc etc. Then using your dyno, refitting my engine, using Tilleys dyno.....etc etc etc.
Your happy to throw your money around so I guess you can pay for it. That way it will save you money too.

My comments that dyno figures are non comparable still stands, anyone who disagrees is kidding themselves. Dyno figures should be taken with a grain of salt especially if they are quoted by someone trying to sell you something.

As for the Victorians no idea what your talking about as I live in QLD but sounds like someone touched a nerve.

Wow, Someone's getting a bit sensitive.....And personal!
I don't see anywhere here where Greg claims to have more horse power than anyone.
He simply questions the horse power figures that come out of random Dynos........

I'm happy to put my car on Tilleys dyno if someone else pays for it hehe. What do you think it would make roughly? It made around 133 on Grahams dyno.

If the figure is published on Ausmini, I am happy to pay for a power run on Tilleys dyno for you.
