A Maxi I think

That's them the maxi when I first seen them I thought the front looked like a wide clubman with the grill and blinkers and parkers under the bumper bar looks same as a mini

Yes, Austin Maxi. Never produced here, they would be personal imports I think. The blue one is owned by a ex Leyland employee.

Heres the pest pic could find. Leyland in the UK made the bizarre discussion (to save money most likely) to reuse the Austin 1800 doors, so the door pretty much dictated it's shape and size.

John Lennon famously crashed one in 1969 with Yoko and family, he had borrowed one when he found his Mini Cooper would be too small for a trip. Both He and Yoko were injured.

The first time I disassembled a wind up door I swore like hell and could have strangled the person who designed them. It took hours but after quite a few goes at it, it is quite simple, just marvellous and ingenious. Hats off to the gentleman !

Yes the preview gives a good idea of what you get. I'm sure there are many people who have developed their own database of this material over the years but here it is in one very well laid out reference book. The key point is this book is written by the guy who job it was to keep track of all this detail. He spent years checking and cross checking the details and much would be from his own notes from his time at BMC/Leyland. I got my copy signed by Peter and he smiled at me and said "please don't find any mistakes".

Hello Phill,
Great photo of Chis Rogers and great to acknowledge his contribution to Aussie minis in their 50th year. Now that modern cars have done away with quarter lights, you need the air conditioner even in winter if the sun shines!
And I wish someone would remake the moulded acrylic weather shields for those doors too.
