The ID plate is amongst a large pile of spare parts that I need to go through still. The previous owner tells me it's Marine Blue with Toga White roof which I am going to now stick with.

I think the cat deserves to be put back the way it was intended to be, at least with the paint work anyway...

Great choice keeping it original

Cheers

Hi Brett,

You say it came with a green interior? If it was Marine Blue as original, I would say it should have a light blue interior...but then again Ive heard that you could order what you wanted at the time of purchase...so who knows??

+1 for keeping the original colour from the ID plate

I agree that a green interior seems a bit strange. I had a similar one but I think it was Baltic Blue - although looked the same.. and came with mid blue upholstery.

But then you can't really make any judgements about BMC stylist taste. I also had a fiesta Yellow S with blue/grey/gold trim. Talk about tarts bedroom (going by what I've seen on TV :)

Cheers, Ian

It doesn't get much more 60's than Fiesta Yellow with blue and gold brocade! :-)

I think the dark blue looks great.

Yeah I thought the same, green interior in a blue car does sound odd, but you never know, as Freddo says original owner may have made a special request.

Does it have any original carpet and if so what colour? The boot board in the earlier Mk1 Cooper S matched the interior also, what colour is that?

Usually blue cars got either blue, black or doeskin (light cream) interior, Winabby on here has some of the original "guides" the factory used for colour combinations, he might be able to comment based on those.

Phill - are you referring to the one I posted earlier in this thread or something else?

Yeah that one, sorry missed that :?

Edit: yeah so no green upholstery with blue body, and no black on offer back in 67 either by the look of it.

The trim in the car seems to be like a super light grey/green/blue/tan colour.

I can't identify exactly what it may be easily enough, I just know it's not as good as the all black including roof lining.

Looks like it could be doeskin, which was a light tan. The roof lining, if original, should be a light creamy colour with slight "woodgrain" pattern (not black)

Easiest way is to unscrew the door card and look behind it. That will show you the original colour vinyl as it wraps around the the card .
2 screws - 5 min job :)

+1 on the doeskin
