That's not just my findings that goes for most water pumps,and if you work out the MINI water pump speed at 4000 RPM your water pump is doing about 5000 RPM so providing you pump is working in that 4000 to 6000 RPM you should be pretty right.
We have a lot of trouble with the FORMULA FORDS on the dyno the normally run 1to1 or under drive the water pump and they do not like being run under 4000 RPM as the temperature just keeps climbing, and I have had a MINI on the dyno with a balancer made in New Zealand that is smaller in diameter we ended up changing the balancer on the dyno to run it in and tune it.
