Well done Greg. It couldn't have gone to a better home.
Is the story true that the owner was/is in the USA and the car was in storage in Melbourne some where?
Great to see another one of Manton's cars hitting the show circuit.

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes its true the car has been in storage since the 70's. The owner worked for Peter and bought the car from him along with all the Manton bits and trailer. He used it for a couple of years, hence the colour change, and the number plate came from another car he used to race. He was transferred to the USA for work in the 70's and the car remained in storage with friends until a couple of days ago, which is why the car is such a unique find. All the hand fabricated bits are there, the race engines along with an array of spares and document. A really historically correct car. I was chasing this car for a number of years and in contact with the owner regularly, so my research behind it is quite significant. One thing that kept baffling me was that in some pics the car had a right hand tank only, in some pics it had a left hand tank only and in some pics it had twin tanks. Now that I have it I can understand what was going on. Peter had a blank piece of metal painted car colour that clips over the tank hole. This allowed him to move the tank around depending on whether it was a clockwise or anti-clockwise circuit.
I haven't had a chance to really look over it yet but will do so in the next few days.
