As you said that your engine was a 9FXEY I was trying to work out when the pressure switch was deleted. The parts catalogue for Somerford Mini says 1969. I was going through a few photos and it looks like the switch in the filter head was deleted sometime in the MK2 S range.
Service Liaison Summary #147 dated 20/6/1968 announces the deletion of the pressure differential switch and lists the change points, although the Cooper S engine was not included in the list. The announcement was repeated in Technical Bulletin 57/68 (see below).
