So that would be around the same time as the last mk 1 interior pattern was used until the introduction of the mk 2 yes?

miniresto quotes July 1967 for change of the boot board to black which conflicts with my experience as the boot board in our Sept 67 Mk1 matched the interior colour. I'm not sure when the upholstery pattern was changed but, again, our Sept 67 Mk1 still has the traditional Mk1 pattern. I think it was much closer to April/May 1969 when the Mk11 was introduced that the pattern changed. Perhaps owners of late model Mk1s can shead some light on this.

The seat pattern was changed at the same time. I don't have the exact date but it was the same time the Hydro covers were changed. My late 1967 MK1 had a black boot board and the changed interior (to all pleats and no bolster as well as multi seams on the door cards from the single one). It was definitely in the second half of 1967. A lot of cars before mine had the change.

I think from memory the updated Mk1 interior was quite late in 67. I think the explanation for some of the inconsistency could be that the factory upholstery section would most likely trim up a stock of boot boards ahead in different colors. The S was the only model that used the boards so there could have been quite a few months where some cars still got matching boards and some got the black.

My Mid 67 (around May/June 67) NBRG Mk1 has the earlier type body pressings but the second type fully pleated interior in light green and black boot board. I always thought it was the original trim from the car - that's what the previous owner told me and the car had been stored since the late 70's till mid 90's. I'm now curious as to whether the interior is original as this places it earlier than what is now being discussed as the changeover point?
Cheers
Rod

Edit - thinking about it now I'm not 100% Sure on the boot board as I think it may have been pretty ratty/damaged when I got the car and I replaced it.

Maybe someone with John Sneddons book could look it up.

John's book notes that the change of seats from Knee Roll to the Roll Over style was at Deluxe Car No. 24578 and at Cooper S Car No. 2424 in April 1967.

Reading the comments it is between Coatsies Sep 67 car 3181 and Minirestos Dec 67 car 3765.

The mid 1967 Colour Trim specs still say that the boot board was the same as the interior colour. And that shows the later pattern as well.

Looking at my photos the 1968 cars had Black Boot Boards
