Guy, pull your heads out of ya Aces! The local steam club has a large fleet of trucks, tractors, road making equipment as well as boats, stationaries etc, the road fleet's on club plates and it's perfectly suited.
In all these cases, it's the drivers responsibility to comply with the rules, the club, roads authorities, brass and users should all be diligent to make sure the driver complies. If you catch a cheater, then tell the authorities and in the same breath say your doing it to protect the compliant users. That way the scheme gets stronger and better.

Don't do your block, Besser

Tis only a lively discussion...I know that some Taxi drivers who are also in car clubs have reported people abusing the system...

Some people need to read these recent changes to VCSS...what a crock, an unashamed money grab...Engineers will be run off their feet  :?

ECS certificates

Engineering Certification Scheme (ECS) certificates are no longer accepted by Roads and Maritime Services and Service NSW to establish registration for a modified or individually constructed vehicle.

Word on the street is that these changes caused a lot of push-back from punters and engineers...and so the previous edict about not recognising past certification has been overturned...

More worrying in NSW, is finding an "RMS Certified" weighbridge...calibrated within RMS requirements and in steps of 20 Kgs!

Brake testing rigs may not be suitable for older cars and the accelerometers/load cells they use don't like the sometimes higher pedal effort required for older cars!

Stand by for more stupidity in the name of "safety" and tinplating of behinds...
