To get visible crank endfloat in 1500 miles the washers are in backwards I reckon. Easy to do if you don't watch it, with brain in gear...!
I'd pull it and look/fix. :wink:

Chris............... yeah i hope it's only washers and hasn't done terminal damage to the engine..... if it has i'll just leave the donk out and start saving again and do a conversion...........

As it stands though the labour costs for the mechanic are going to kick me in the nuts..... engine out , diagnose, replace f*&ked parts, engine in, refit bits and peices......

Many many hours and many many dollars :cry:

Too late for that............ i'm not going to go over and get the bloody thing, put it on a tilt tray and get it back home and try and do it in a cramped garage............ besides i do not have the tools / equipment to do so..... :(

Just have to lump it i guess :cry:

oh i didnt realise you didnt have it back at home sorry. i'm sorry to hear you have to spend lots :( but i guess its the "joy" of owning a mini :P 8) it iwll be worth it though cos they are cool

I don't think that spending $20K plus on my mini is not cool i'm afraid socially.............. :evil: i call it "draining".... on my finances, mind and life at the moment :evil:

Endfloat of the crank when motor was built should have been around .003" or so.
Get someone to bung a dial gauge on the front pulley (balancer), pry it to & for, see wot it's got before you yank it out.. :wink:
