Umm yeah i was it was when i realised i couldn't back off cause the cable was stuck and it got to 6,500 before i turned it off cause i was going for the next gear.

So hopefully no damage has been done to me poor car.

haha, it'll be ok...mine went pask 8k rpm on the smiths tacho when the throttle cable return spring snapped off :lol:...no harm done 8)

With my old mini years ago I snapped a spedo cable in the middle of nowhere. I tried with a shoe lace out the window but that was no go.
I ended up adjusting the idle up to about 3500 revs and crawling home that way. Got me home. The only problem is when you need to slow down you have to hit the switch.

I stole a cable from the wife's mountain bike (she never rides it) so at least i'm mobile again.
