I think what he means is he didnt put the keyed locking tab/plate on which locks the flywheel and crank together and subsequently it has undone the flywheel bolt which has come up against the inside of the diaphragm... so the inside of the diaphram hits the bolt before bending the spring sufficiently.

ah now i get it as i couldnt understand what he was talking about a locking plate in the clutch set up.
so he drove it like that then.
ouch he had better hope the crank hasnt had any fretting on it with the flyhweel not being locked down.
i thought he said he hadnt put the C clip on but that would be ludicrus.
he has it sorted now no problems.

yeah problem is now sorted, i hadn't driven it far, just out the garage and back again, thats when i noticed the clutch. Will have it all back together tonight and then we will take it for a spin round the block, see how we go.

Cheers

I didn't put that locking plate on either....just used Loctite on the bolt. :?

I have read a lot about the clutch arm bending....where is it likely to bend? At the ball end or the slave cylinder end?
