Hi
I am from the Blue Mountains to the west of Sydney. Have had quite a few minis over the years ( My first car was a 1970 K ) and I'm currently rebuilding one I bought as a wreck It is probably a 69 auto ( Used to be).
Am having lots of fun getting my hands dirty again, can't wait to drive it-1275 with 8.4" discs.
Cheers
Brian

Hi

I am from Perth, I am 21 and i just got myself my first mini a blue 1978 Leyland Clubman it has a lot of rust and its painted blue. I have almost finished restoring her to her former glory, now she is black with a white roof and i have just taken her for a test drive around the block and i cant wait till she is ready for the real thing!!! Should be long now i hope.

I also got too excited and got myself another mini.

Hi Jono,

Mini's are very addictive. I'm sure I speak for all of us here when I say we would love to see some pictures of your almost restored blue clubby in "Members Gallery".

I hope you have an enjoyable experience on Ausmini.

Cheers, Nick

I haven't introduced yet , - been rude.
I have a 1969 Mini. Not started for 8 years, but it is now saved 8) I also have a pink 73 clubby that my gf wanted, but I look after. When she drives it she thinks it is cute, when I drive it, the clubby gets her legs stretched and the hair falls off them. Putting a 1.75"SU and cam and exhaust - I told gf that they were esential items. All I need to do is find a way to convince her that the SC12 hair dryer looking thing is a heater... :D. Daily driver is a Austin Healey (unitl the mini's get registered), and I wave at every mini I see - yeap that is my crazy driving you may have seen  . I love the A Series - they just need to be wound out furthur. Located in Bentliegh, Melbourne.

Hey no problem, my name's Tim by the way if you'd rather say that, but you know that cos of dodgy old myspace......

I always loved black was going to paint my car black but my dad said no, it would be red or blue, I went with red (obviously).

Have fun, I know you will, don't forget to check the oil and water regularly.

Hello all,
my account got activated today so i thought would intro myself.
my name is damien, 26, happily married, live in Figtree near wollongong. dont actually own a mini yet but i did for like 3 days when i was 15, my brother bought it for me & then my dad said no way your taking that home to fix up, it was a 1977 mini clubman ls or s was like 11years ago had a seized 1100cc motor(was over 3 litres of oil in it when we tried to start it unseize it) needed new interior & paintwork & all new tyres i did the math as well for it at the time would of cost me 6 grand to fix. after my last two cars before the one below would of been cheaper.lol
my current ride is a 1993 subaru liberty lx(fwd) generation 1 series 2 sedan no major mods to it just a set of gx wheels from the series 1 which are the same size wheels as the stock ones just with 195/60/14's instead of the 185/70/14's.
I am hoping to save up & get another mini clubman or leyland mini as they look similar, did have a look at a 88 mayfair but it just looked like a older cooper shape with newer mods added for the 90's era.
I saw a mini clubman almost the same as 1 i had on one of the mini sites think it was mini&moke world in sydney but i think id like to get a fixer upper be more special.
i do have same username on other forums also 2 many to list.lol
anyways
sorry for big intro.
cheers
Damo
ps: did already post this on a different part sorry.

G'day Folks.

Names Chris, I'm in Brisbane, I've got a 1965 mkI "s" , had it since I was 19 now I'm 40 (sounds bad when you say it like that, what have I done with my life??? ) , been doing it up for 15yrs now, YES, It's been of the road for 15yrs. But, should be back on the road within the next 2 months or so.

Total build from the ground up, went back to shell, repainted marine blue with toga white roof, new roof interior and carpets (origial seats and door trims), half cage , rebuilding the rebuilt engine in two weeks (up at MR Automotive). Should be a beaut again soon. :D

I was in the old old old Qld Mini Car Club back 20 yrs ago, anyone from there here??

Looking for a few tips though, been out of touch with the mini world for a while now, so need to know what tyres to get, little things like that.

anyway...Hello, I'll post up some pics soon.

Chris

Welcome Chris,

Good to hear that you have your car all those years. Your story sounds a bit like mine except I've only had my car for 3 years - before that it was my dad's first car. Been in the family for the last 34 years - its been a family member longer than I have!!!!

Hope you enjoy your time on ausmini.

Cheers, Nick.
