I started making 2 M16-1/8NPT-1/4NPT connection fittings for Mick's `grease pump hydro' pump.

Damn, you mean I missed something?

Yeah, a rattle-can white grille and a dodgy front spoiler. With the spoiler fitted it has about 2" of clearance off the road. I reckon with an engine in it, it would have dug up road reflectors.

I saw the spoiler but missed the grille.

I would have loaded it up with useless bits but it was already full.

Should call the car "Skip"

Yesterday I put the cones (cones from BALLISTIC), HiLo's, new knuckle joints and top arms (arms and pins from an 88 Rover) in the painted front subframe (original subframe for the car) for the Moke. Went to do the bottom arms but found that the Nolathane bushes I've had laying around for ages were the early non-tapered type (of course I never bought the correct ones because I thought I had them).

Today I removed the two roller bearings from one of the rear trailing arms from the crappo Moke with a die grinder. Didn't do too much damage  Cleaned all the old yuck grease out, degreased and Karcher'd them. All spiffo and clean ready for a lick of paint and re-assembly with new roller bearings. Just gotta do the other arm now.

Spent the last few days chasing oil leaks.

Ist major one was the timing cover seal. Thanks to the Doc I was able to swap to another - all good no leaks (just a pain to take radiator out to get access.

2nd one was oil leaking out of the rear inspection covers on the rear of the block. The seal was OK but was leaking out around where the centre bolt goes in. Had to take carbies and manifold off, made up a rubber gasket and sealed with extra ultra grey.

3rd leak - don't know yet. Do these things ever stop leaking oil?

The sealing on the early (convex ) covers is just a flat fibre washer.
On the later (concave) ones there is a square section O-ring sits inside a metal retainer washer. These rings work good but should be replaced if removed.

Temp guage was running up to 'H' staying there for a while and then droping back to 'N' before going back up the 'H'. Had an old thermostat and cut the core out of it and replaced - now runs up to 'N' and stays there. HOORAY.

Oh - and I filled the 35 litre tank with BP Ultimate and the fuel gauge now works. HOORAY # 2.

Nothing,,, i did nothing to my mini,,, i worked on a bloody speedway sprint car all day instead

found a piece of rubber "O-ring" jammed inside the fuel filter, slowing the progress of fuel to the injectros quite a fair bit actually

now it goes really good , funny enough

but that just was after we found a big lump growing on one of our dogs (Kirras) bum

turns out it`s a cancerous tumour & needs cutting out,,, poor Kirras bum will be sore for a while,,, along with my (now lacking of $500) wallelt

:-(
