Doors all finished and trim replaced.
New wiper blades - the old ones had stuck to the windscreen which gave the wiper motor a hernia - very hot to the touch - and it seized up. Fortunately after it all cooled down it seems to be OK again.
Checked the headlights and it was just a loose connection on the switch. That is the electricals sorted so the dash can be reassembled. A custom dash always seems like a good idea until something breaks and you have to pull it apart.
Battery charged up and ready to go.

All that is left is wider front flares, align the headlights and a couple of minor fixes to the rear suspension. Car booked in for Monday to have that done and then trotted around to the RWC guys for a retest.

Realised last night my front-right parker/indicator was not working.. it had been filling up with water and had gone a lovely rust colour, so figured the base was all eaten up.

Took the lens off today and sure enough, it took lots of scrubbing with a wire brush to find metal under there

Oh, and the globe was fubar, too.. $1.25 later and it's all good again 8)

Removed the yellow paint that someone kindly left a tub of behind my wheel in the garage that I couldn't see. Fortunately it was water based and relatively easy to remove.

On a happier note I recieved my Go Pro video camera :D and took it for a test run on the mini. Vid should have uploaded to my photobucket soon.

:EDIT Video up :D

Yes my garage is a mess, and no it's not my mess

Did some more spray puttying today, nearly done. And then I looked at the roof, oops. I've now decided to strip back the roof and start all over...

Did a nice 1 hour drive , including some 100 kph roads. Everything looks good except the side plate oil seperator(vent) is dumping oil down the back of the engine which makes its way down to the exhaust.

Can you make a catch tank sort of thing or maybe change to a different type?

I'd put a Cooper S/late 998 Clubby one on it, and run that to a PCV valve in the manifold. Or to the vac ports if your carbs have them.
Catch tanks are fine for the track, but smelly things on the road. 8)

I readjusted the 1.5 forged rockers (RE282 cam).
Inlets now .022", exhausts .024". They were within a thou or two. 8)
