Well I'm Mini-less at the moment. Hope to get one soon. I learnt to drive in a Mini 1275LS that belonged to a family friend so keen to get back in one, especially my own. 8)

Aiming for a nice roundie.

Hi Michael,

You will find heaps of knowledgeable people on this site. You will be able to pick things up without even realising it, thus making it easier to sort out problems with your mini.

Cheers, Nick

P.s. Welcome to the ausmini mad house

Hi all,

My Name is Matt. I currently live in Las Vegas and a couple of months ago i bought a 1978 red mini clubman. sold as an LS but i am not sure exactly what it is.

i have had a few minis in my time and hope to take this one back to the UK with me when i leave here.

I am looking at doing a BMW k100 8v head conversion on it aswell if i can manage it!

Hopefully you will all be able to help me out with all the little differences with my mini in comparison to a UK one.

hi to all again

Hey, it's an Aussie mini yeah?

If it's a 1978 it should be what is known as a 1275LS. 8) I have a '77 LS, but the more desireable model is the follow up one, as I said above the 1275 LS. Basically the last Aussie Mini, in fact the actual last one built resides here in Adelaide in the motoring Museum.

This isn't really the place to chat about your car, a new thread is good for that, but I'll just say originally all 1275LS were either 'Nugget Gold' or 'Hi Ho Silver'.

Cheers, Tim.

Hey Gav,

Welcome to ausmini. Please put some pic's up for the rest of us. We all know how rare late model Mini's are in this country so you are very lucky!

Hi all.

I live in miniless country Vic town. If it wasnt for this site, TME, and the Victorian Mini Club newsletter, I would really be out of the loop!

I've got a standard '63 850 called Lou Martin (Old owner) He's rough around the edges but fun to drive.

I'm also in the prosses of building up my '72 English import commercial van thats getting a late model SPi 1275 Jap inport motor.
I hope to post some pics soon.

Cheers, Steiny.

Hi Steiny,

I hope you enjoy your time on ausmini and feel free to rack our brains if you encounter a problem with your mini's.

Cheers, Nick

Gav, you better learn quick smart! Don't let us down on the pix front man.

The more I think of it, I think a late Rover Mini would be the best of both worlds. It looks the part but has all the mod cons.

Just gotta find the dollars and the right car. How hard can that be?

Well i just bought my first Mini. Its a 73 Clubman S. It runs but not very well - The brakes are pretty much shot and I'm looking to do a Disc Brake conversion fairly soon. I have very little mechanical knowledge so bought this car as a learning tool as well as just a bit of fun.

My car: (As seen here http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37091)
Image

It needs a lot of body work, and apparently one of the wheel bearings is stuffed as well.

My other car is an astra wagon which was bought to carry around the massive drum kit that i own (Am trying to sell to pay for the mini... :D)

I'm also fairly into the LS1 scene and love my V8 Holdens.

Hey guys,

Hope you enjoy your time here and feel free to dump any mini knowledge you have along the way :D .

Lazzz, good to see someone else that appreciates small blocks - please PM me a bit about what you have owned (I love them - we've had a few over time - big Holden fans too).

Cheers, Nick
