Welcome Matt (I've always wanted to say that  )

Seems lots of Pugs classify as rolling restorations! Cheers, Mick

That's not a bad looking 504, don't see many with trapezoidal headlights here.

Hi fellow mini nuts, long time fan of ausmini, not real sure about navigating on here, which is why after joining in 2005 I am just logging back on.

So here I am re introducing myself, my name is Penny (the other half of 2S's & a clubman). And yes we have a couple of mini's:)

I hope you all enjoyed the recent post of pics for our latest revamp "scrapper 2":)

The boys certainly put a lot of work into that and compared to "scrapper the original" this one is luxury, I am really looking forward to having a go at the next event.

I can't wait to explore the site the guys have created, looks interesting.

Ciao for now.

Mrsdoogie

G'day all,

Thought it was about time i posted, i've been hanging around reading for more than long enough...

Anyway, I've got this wee lass sitting in my carport,

Image
Image

Its a early 1970 morris, which at one stage of it's life had an 1100 engine in, now with a 1275. However, it's been sitting in the folks shed for a couple of years while i was working up in Geraldton. Now i'm back in Perth, it's time to get her going again. Which is the fun bit. As far as i remember (with rose coloured glasses) she ran fairly well when last registered, barring the usual nonsence. However, the registration ran out, and the interior was looking tired and the oil coloured engine bay needs tidying, along with various bits and bobs.

There have been a few things that needed doing, usual bit of rust around A panel and in under the rear bumper, and other rust spots, but mostly have been able to sand out without too much difficulty. I had some rust appearing through the paint on the roof, though thankfully it was only on the surface, and taken out with a bit of wet and dry.

There are a few things i have and need to install like wheel arches, radiator, crankcase ventilation, hoses etc; A few thing i need to get and install like water pump, carpets, headlining, and window rubbers; and a few things on my dream list like some thing to fill the webber box in the engine bay...

However such frivolities require the permission of she (below) the operations manager for the project, who is dictating the available funding, and will hopefully oversee the project to completion.

Look forward to advice and rubbishing on the forum, especially as i get closer to dealing with licensing authorities.

Cheers,

Chris[/img]

thanks LS1380,

I'm pretty sure i'll get up and running by the end of the year, barring unforeseen problems...

Yep, I'm planning on joining the Mini Owners Club at some point, and would be fairly sure they are going to get something going for next year, considering how quickly and enthusiastically they started waving recruitment papers at me when i went up to bayswater to get some bits...

See you round!

Welcome Gavin , good to see another 850 being saved , at least the shell shouldn't have much rust sitting out in the opal fields . Has your dad only just got it or was he the one that parked it 25 years ago ?
