Very anal retentive, but harleyhq found me a set of old leads in as new condition. They look pretty sweet.

Last week saw a roof rack installed to complement my tweed hat

and although it's not mini, I scored an old kyosho nostalgia series daytona coupe. I built this one in the 90's and gave it to my nephew who thankfully put it straight in his cupboard. I scored it back again last week :) needs help but it should be fun.

I snapped ANOTHER window winder handle...this is the third handle in 18 months :(

You may need to lubricate the window regulator and window channels.

The grease on the regulator gears dries out and needs cleaning and re-greasing. A squirt of silicone spray in the window channels will help as well.

Coffee grounds? :)

I realised the front right Smootha Ride rubber donut and Adjustaride trumpet had become twisted, with the trumpet on an angle to the verticle so removed the upper arm (a little tricky as I couldn't get the suspension compressor onto the rubber donut) but it went a lot quicker than last time. I then reassembled the suspension, lowering the cone onto the trumpet carefully and took it for a test drive. Luckily I live in the land of speed bumps and as I went over the first one, I heard a satisfying clunk as the cone engaged with the trumpet. Job done.

I pulled out the crap windscreen I can't see through or clean, and replaced it with a nice S/H one from maxi23. Thanks Max! :P

So can I expect any problems when I finally get around to fitting my Smootha Ride kit?

Finished rebuilding the Moke's rear subframe. I had put both the new rear brake cylinders in the back plates a few months ago, but grabbed 2 RH ones. Haha. The clip was no good after I pulled it off, but luckily I had a couple spare new ones. 8)

I fitted my uprated alternator, so no more running out of electrical power for me now when I want to use my lights and stereo at the same time  8)
Also fitted a fire extinguisher between the seat mounts. I feel as though i'm tempting fate by having it.
I also fitted an exhaust mount and replaced the flogged out top radiator rubbers as well.

So I'm all ready for the Hillclimb tomorow 8)

started the long task of stripping the paint.

rear panel, rear beaver and driver side panel done. Not bad for my first experience with paint stripper in my opinion. it got quite hot in the shed today

thank goodness theres only a couple of layers :D

The only thing to watch is that the front cones are compressed a lot more than standard ones to get the adjustarides in, so when uncompressing the cone make sure it seats properly in the adjustaride. Mine didn't fit particularly well even off the car, with the fit between the two very tight. Once on the car, the first bump brought the two together correctly.

Funnily enough, I asked my wife what she thought of the new suspension (which I prefer for a daily driver as it's much more comfy) and she said "It doesn't feel like a mini any more". Yeah, thanks...
