Yeah, the '70 was on ebay about a year ago, but I actually found the guy via another mini he was selling on ebay and we began talking about these two. Didn't pay him anywhere near what he was asking on ebay though.

It is a really great car, and very much stock original in almost every respect. The seller also wrote a really good ebay ad, that got you really excited about the car also.

My wife says we need to keep this one, but I am pretty enamored with the '66 as well, even though it has a few more warts to deal with. Guess we'll see where the project takes us. The thing about this one is that other than one respray to the outside, it's 100% original. Interior, interior paint, dash, headliner, all sheet metal, etc. Hard to part with such a beast.

Ah well.

Hi to the ausmini faithful. My name is Brian and struggled to get on the forum. Fortunately whilst at the MCC show at Gannons Pk I met cooper19613 (Steve) he was nice enough to put me in contact with sports850 (Ian) who searched tirelessly until he found my long lost registration, thanks guy's.
I have been following the forum for some time now as I decided I would like to rekindle my affection for the beloved Mini. My first car at age 17 was a 1971 Clubman which at the time was the talk of all my friends. We had several minis in the family, Mums 1st- 1963 850, then my older bros 850, mums 2nd- 71clubman (she said this was to fancy and nice for her) so i bought it. mums 3rd- 1967 deluxe 998 and finally my younger bros 72 clubman.
I have been looking for a Mk2 Cooper for some time now but for one reason or another have been unable to jag one. I have even got the NSW plate MIN10C ready and waiting for my original cooper that is hopefully resting in a shed for me somewhere.
Whilst on the hunt I purchased a 1971 MGB Mk2 with overdrive (gotta love those pommie cars).

Keep up the great comrarderie that I have experienced so far on this forum, as to many people in this world seem to bury their heads when they pass in the street these days. It is really good to just say G'Day.

All the best,

Aussie Brian

G,Day Ausminites, I am the new owner of a 1974 Clubman S 1100, one owner, only 27,100 genuine kms. Its supposed to be be Crystal White but the previous owners stepson decided it would look better washing-machine white so there is a little overspray which will need a cut/polish , the grandson thought he could cut corners and bent the original rostyle on the back left corner and the shock, all of the interior is in good condition, the rod-change box works well, the engines fine, a little surface rust as expected and since all of the original Lucas smoke in in the wiring loom, I,m expecting the first long drive to involve screwdrivers and headscratching. I bought the car to use as a daily driver and will be keeping it as original as possible. see you on the freeway !

Welcome to ausmini 74snail,

cant wait to see pictures of your 1100 Clubman S, it sounds like amazing little bit of preserved history, and all the original interior is in good condition! Sounds like its in pretty good condition, especially if its only done 27100 kms, truly amazing. Gotta love the clubbies (i own an 1100 73 clubman s spec myself.) I use my clubby as a daily, and theres only been a few little niggles on a day to day basis, so if its set-up right, shouldnt miss a beat. Theres a heap of info here on Ausmini if anything should ever go wrong, im sure the vic crew would love to see you out and about on cruises etc showing off your pride and joy.

Have fun, and enjoy Ausmini

Cheers,
Robbie

Hi all,

Its been some fifteen years since I have thought of getting back in Mini, now im here it hopefully wont be long. I remember getting paid on a thursday and riding my pushie home from work past the mini car clinic at padstow and spending the whole lot on what ever looked fast. Back then I had an 850 then a host of clubmans. It had a 1275 with big head and cam morrie 1300 offset crank and 45 weber.S box and cross pin diff, blah blah I almost got sucked it to that thing(weber) as it didnt have an airbox for a while. I also remember buying my first set of wheels 13x5.5 superlites with A008s great fun, not many 13s around then. I then started building a sports sedan which i had a cage welded in fibreglass everything and adjustable stuff here and there. sold it as sort of couldnt afford to finish it. Looking through this site a week ago I saw it in a couple of photos and has now turned up in a good home, same as when I sold it ten years ago.

Now two kids and need to build the kids a car to drive when they are old enough(thats how I might have to sell it). they are two and the other ten days old

Out goes the A series in with the new when Im there.

Great site,well done to all

Cheers

Hello to everyone on Ausmini,I,ve been lurking around here for a while but have,nt posted yet.I live in sunny Ireland and have been into minis since I could drive and right now I own 68 MKII 850,74 auto clubby estate,80 1275GT which is going to get a Suzuki Swift GTI conversion,91 RSP and a 61 van which I hope to have ready for the IMM,50th in Birmingham next year.I really like ausmini because ye have some of the nicest clubbys I,ve ever seen.Just wish I had bought one when I lived there for a while in the early 90,s instead of spending all my money on VB.Now that I,ve posted once there is no stopping me,Bye for now Aidan

howdy everyone
i just joined here and have been having a look around. i had a mini for my first car 21 years ago. it was a 66 model and i stripped it to a bare shell and built it back up again with a rebuilt 1100 and a few other bits and peices. at the age of 16 i couldnt even drive it but used to borrow my mates licence, as they were paper back then, and take it for a drive!!
well ive just sold a couple of motorbikes and am getting away from motorcycling but am looking for a mini to get me to work and back every day. to cold most of the year for the motorbikes as i live in the lovely but freezing southern highlands. ive just taken a job that forces me to travel 140kms each day and while looking for a small economical car i decided its time to buy another mini. i just hope it doesnt turn into another obsession like my old 66 model did, and the motorcycles did as well!!

anyway ill chuck a post in the wanted section and see what comes of it. i have been searching for a couple months now and am surprised how hard it is now to get what i want!!

love the mods section to:D but i have to stay away from that section!!!

G'day mate.

I'm sure you'll find heaps of information on here that you will find useful once you track down you mini.

Good luck in finding a reliable one for everyday use. There are some about and don't let people tell you that mini's aren't reliable! I drive mine everyday and hardly have any problems - the ones you have to watch are the mini's that have been 'maintained' by people who don't know anything about mini's or that haven't been maintained at all.

Good luck with the search.

Cheers, Nick
