Took my drums apart, cleaned out about a cupfull of brake dust and adjusted the brakes.
Then i replaced a bulb in my parkers which looked like a black marbel.

Then i went down the way and got my road worthy and registered for another 12 months with no problems weee

Got the clutch line parts I need. Re-attached everything, gave it a thorough bleed, put a milk crate where the front seat should be and went dor a drive to the end of the driveway and back... Put Hetty back in the shed and got to work fitting the Headlining. It's pinned up there, just needs some tweeking and then sticking into place...

Did a cooling system flush and a new thermostat on the LS the other week. It had started playing up and the radiator looked a bit gunky so did the flush. There was heaps of muck in it and the thermostat had been drilled by a previous owner so I'm guessing it wasn't quite working properly.

The local Autobarn guy put me onto Sin racing coolant. He uses it in his ultra early 850(?) (number 45 or something - neat car. They had it displayed in the shop a couple of months back). 1/2 the bottle did the fill fine when mixed as per directions.

I painted thetop engine steady mount on the engine while I was there as it was a bit rusty.

I'm guessing it's the new thermostat, not the coolant, but it suddenly comes to temperature promptly and stays there. Previously it had taken a while to get sorted and would get hot if you sat at the lights for a while or crawled in traffic. Drove it to work the other day in peak hour and it went fine.

Good days work and cheap too..

I bashed the Lucas demons with a stick until I beat them into submission..

All the electrics on Hetty are now working after cutting out all the wiring that had been previously put on her to run things like Hazzard lights, neons, amps, stereo and cheap crappy fog light things..

I now have fully functioning lights, dash lights dimmer switch and dash lights, indicators, brake lights, windscreen wipers, interior light, windscreen washer, horn, etc etc...

Oh and I refilled the container of smoke. I did find, however, that the alternator could do with a refurb. I'm a happy mini owner. I hate working on electrics, it's too fiddly for me but all sorted now.

Also bought all the vinyl to redo the interior today. So it might be out with the wife's sewing machine tomorrow arvo. 8)

Took the Mini for a big drive today. :D Boy to school, mother-in-law's, boy from school to mother-in-law's, home. I reckon I did over 100km - a HUGE day for my Mini.

What wasn't fun... Was that some anencephalous schmohawk driving past a brick manufacturing/sales shop at the same time as me didn't bother looking where he was going, drove over a brick in his VZ Calais (no damage to him - except he might need an alignment now - though he did hit it pretty square on), and sent it crumbling and flying at me. A small part of it glanced off the windscreen. :x A couple of large chunks flew under the Mini, and hit the sump. Thankfully I couldn't see any damage, and it's probably done about 30km since it happened (no choice!). No oil leaks - well, no new ones, and no visible chips - well, no new ones. :o Very frustrating, very fortunate to get away so unscathed. :)

Finally got around to putting in the new seat base. No more sitting on the floor for me.

What a crap of a job though.
