Hi all,

My name is Nathan and i recently bought a 1967 Mini Deluxe in very original condition. Surprisingly, because it is all original, it runs really well and i currently have it on full rego just because i love driving it whenever i feel like it. body and 99% is in original Nick too. It is my first mini although ive been interested for a while. ive joined my local mini club and although i dont have a lot of knowledge im keen to learn to keep my mini running.

looking forward to tapping into all of the knowledge out there...

Cheers

Nath

Hi All,

Recently purchased a 77 mini from a bloke who sold it through Matt Miniman Read. The previous owner was nice enough to include rego so im in the process of getting it up to Safety Cert. for the time being.

Always wanted a mini - just needed to take the leap of faith.

Big thanks to those who have helped me thus far; Taghd, Matt & Neil. And a thanks in advance for the help i'll be receiving in the future :D Getting a nice vibe from the mini community.

Hi Sam! You have two nice litle cars there! Are they on the road? If not, how far away are they?

the Leyland is the closest with a recently rebuilt 1100cc +.020, just a few bits and pieces to finish it off.

The morris i bought only about 3 months ago the 998 is no good, rings are shot and its not making any vacuum. it has disc brakes, 3 gauge dash, MG leather interior and 12" minilites. bit annoyed about the motor but for $1000 and apart from the motor its pretty much roadworthy so i cant be too annoyed...

Hi everyone,

I'm Meaghan, a 22 year old female yes, you heard right.

First developed an interest when a mate of mine (a member on here that I won't name, he may not want to be associated with me =P kidding) bought a mini.

Currently looking to buy a mini for myself, I've posted a thread in Wanted if you wanna check it out and help me on my journey to owning a mini.

Look forward to learning more

Heya Meaghan,

Welcome to ausmini. I think there are a few members around your area. They might be happy to go car shopping with you!

Cheers
Clovus

Hi I'm new here surprise surprise, I live in Geelong and am a mechanic. I don't currently own a mini but am looking at buying one soon hopefully. I'm meant to be looking at a 78 ls when the people who own it get back from their holiday. I haven't seen it yet but from what I've been told the body is in pretty good condition only a few little bits of rust, it has a few spares to go with it the only thing is it's missing the engine/trans.... Hopefully it is a good little car.

Two questions probably the first of many.
Where is a good place to source and engine in Geelong/Melbourne area?
And what price should I expect to pay for a 1100 or 1275? Not to fussed if it needs a rebuild.

Cheers
Luke

Welcome to the forum!

1100 's are cheaper then 1275's. It seems a running 1275 is worth around $3500 or so these days. Good luck on the mini hunt!
