After yesterday's run down the M4 I thought the 1412 was running a little rich, so today I pulled the 170 main jets and fitted 165s, then 160s. Holy shizen Batman, it don't half go now! :P
Now, where did I put my 155s....

Gotta love a Dellorto, no ****** SU needles to buy and try.

Put on a new R/H tail light assembly.

Took my son for a drive to South Werribee, then took another turn and drove through Little River then into the You Yangs National Park. Had great fun on 'the big loop' 12KM gravel road. Hamish asked if it was OK to take Mini's "off road"; guess I had to show him! 8)

Stripped apart gearbox then cleaned, for about 3 hours then inspected everything. This gearbox has been recently reconditioned me thinks..... Everything is spot on!

Scrubbed and cleaned freshly bored block and re-ground crank. Cleaned new GR 100thou pistons and all the bearings, gapped rings, assembled rods and pistons a little more cleaning then assembled crank in block, checked crank end float, installed pistons and rods.

Now waiting for cam and head.........

Pulled an old steering rack apart to do up, but found it was knackered. The old thick grease was hard and rusty, rack tube bent, rack scored and corroded.
I saved the pinion and bearings... tossed the rest then stripped another. Full of thick gear oil, MMMMMMMMMMMM. Noice one.:D
Oilz is oilz, but grease is crap when old.

Went to take the kid back to his Mum's. Got 1/4 the way there when noticed screen needed demisting. What that's not right! Looked at the floor and a stream of green fluid was slowly puddling at son's feet. Turned the heater off, and returned the car back to the garage, naughty car.

Looks like the heater matrix is leaking, as it didn't seem to be wet at either of the hose connections. My heater is some after market one, not the normal MK I or Cooper 'S' one, so not sure what I should do at this stage if the core is to far gone. Any suggestions? :?

Collected my Clutch hose so I can get a Nut for it & took 1 of the wifes coat hangers straighted it and then bent it to the shape I want for the Master Cylinders Pipers. Thats how Long I was at home and was more proactive than on the weekend for the Mini's

I'm storing up my limited energy reserves for pulling out my heater and fixing it. 8)
