Evening all!

Finally got around to throwing in some pics and saying hi!

Have been afflicted by the Mini disease since I was a super young'un watching Dad run around Winton in a '34 Singer. But the Mini's always had something special about them! Something about them taking on John Mann and co in the Mustang's made them stand out!

Raced the radio control version for a long time (part of the www.rc-mini.net crew) but they were only enough to keep me intrigued :)

So - a few years ago, I attempted to solve the affliction by buying an 08 Cooper S. Great car - a go-kart on steroids - and it kept me going for a while, but didn't tick all the boxes!

So, I've been hunting gumtree, fleabay, Trading Post, Carsales etc all trying to spot a car worth a0 looking at, and b0 spending cash on! I looked at a few local cars that were asking CRAZY money for what they actually were and then a few weeks ago I spied the new toy on fleabay, situated in Broken Hill. I spoke to the owner quite a few times - and then tied on a trailer and made the trek upto look at the car. A few hours later, and she was on the trailer and heading home with me!

On the hunt for a few odds and ends to get it upto RWC - and then it'll be onto CPS and driving about.

Would love to have it at the re-scheduled Picnic at Hanging Rock, but just depends on what other issues are picked up on before it gets RWC'd!

It's teasing me having it sitting out there waiting to be fanged - so hopefully the sooner the better!

Hi,
I am Alan from Townsville. I did my apprenticeship on BMC vehicle in the late '60's. I have '69 MkII Cooper S under restoration. I have had it since 1989. I drove it as a daily drive for years. It has been stripped down for about 3 years now. One day I might finish it - Retirement is looking good.

Thanks Diesel27,

Have ticked 'most' boxes now - there is some play in the steering which is not ball joint related - so am about to begin digging into that one at the moment.

I'm located in Bendigo :)

Hi there. First time on this site but have been driving minis for the last 20 years. First car was a Leyland mini 998, totally stock. Have owned around 30 mini's since of all kinds (mild to wild) Have 3 mini's at this point. One stock leyland, one very warm Leyland(1310,45 weber and so on) and a seamist green deluxe that is a longterm project. Have owned many other types of cars and also have at this point a WB Holden ute, 59FC Holden ute, XW Falcon and a Cagiva raptor 1000 motorcycle.

Welcome aboard,

That's a pretty mixed bag of hobbies there.
Hope we can help you with your Minis, or perhaps the other way around with your long list of experience!

Nothing wrong with that.

However, there was one on Trademe only a week ago, and that's why I asked.

cheers

Hi, I am Chris from Artarmon, NSW.

I have just returned from 5 years in the UK, and I am itching to release my 1969 Morris Mini Deluxe from the confines of a storage lock up.... I have accumulated various bits and pieces whilst in the UK. Mollie was in good condition when she was stored, but will need recommissioning... Any tips and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Welcome back Chris,

You must have a container load of gear to fit up. Good luck with it all!
