Hey guys and girls, I'm Ryan, dirty Scotsman currently residing in the even dirtier south of NZ :P

Owner of a blue 73 Clubman/many headaches, it's getting there though, legal again :D For your viewing "pleasure":

I have considered selling up several times this year already but something keeps me going despite all the hassles i'm having, maybe its the fact I know that if I sell another mini, i'll kick myself... Anyway, I'm considering a Toyota 4E-FTE swap, and apparently some of you fine folk are the right people to talk to ;)

Hi, I am in NQ (Paradise). Just remembering my first Mini. It was a modified '60 850. Painted in Sultan Maroon (XR Falcon colour) with a black vinyl roof. It had an 1100 engine with a wild cam, 42 DCOE Weber and a mild head. Interior was black upholstery similar to Mustang seats of the day. The top of the dash board was FB Holden with an instrument panel similar to the Mini Broadspeed layout. I bought it from a work colleague who worked in spare parts at the local BMC Dealersip. I fitted flared guards to it after the local constabulary booked me for "defective vehicle" wide wheels, mind you they were Hunter & Delbridge 4 spoke mags 4.1/2 inch wide. I named the car "Idlewild" emblazened on the boot lid in yellow lettering. There was a drag car by the same name racing down south at the same time. I bought the car in 1968 and last time I saw it was around 1975. I think it was then owned by General Strettons son (Cyclone Tracy Recovery Boss)
I often wonder where it got to, probably the wreckers, but you never know.

Hi there,
My name is Ross, I live in Brisbane, and I have a late "66 Mk1 Cooper S that I am just starting to restore.
I have had the car for 8 years and have done well over 100,000 k's in it during that time driving it most days, except when I was fixing something which had been getting quite frequent lately.
The car has some previous smash repairs which I intend to do my best to fix properly, replacing crumpled panels with new metal.
I might have some questions along the way from you chaps who have done this kind of thing before. :)

Hi Ausmini friends,

This is my first post as a member. My wife and I have owned a number of Minis over the years. Currently in our family we have a 1970 Cooper S, a Morris 1100, a Mini 850 and just new to the family is a Mini K. I bought the K a few days ago and I am seeking some information about the history of the Mini K in general. I have read the article in BC Experience which is excellent. The Mini K I bought is Black with white interior. I have never seen a Black Mini K so would be interested to learn of anyone else who may have one.
Regards,
Clint

Hi guy's, I don't think I have introduced myself as yet.
My name is Terry and I am a father of two currently living in surrounding Ipswich Qld.
I bought a 74 Leyland Clubman S project over 12 months ago with the intent on doing a complete rebuild. Lets just say it wasn't in the best condition but was a good base for a project, rough body with the normal rust spots, some good parts and some not so good.
After 12 or so months chipping away working on the body and cleaning up some parts I began the hunt for a shell, or parts of, to replace the rust sections on the 74 body. With the word out I come across a post from another forum member seeking a running project. One of the responses was from mini_mad_matt as he had his daily he was interested in selling. The only down side to this car was he had removed the engine complete which I guess turned the original poster off as they didn't respond to matt post.
But I did and sent matt a PM to get more details.
After setting up a time to view the car I turned up with a trailer and a fist full of cash......to matt's surprise.
So, now, I own a 77 Clubman S that is in pretty good condition considering it had sat dormant for over two years.
The project has now turned from the 74 to the 77 with the 74 being the donor car. So keep an eye out as I will be putting up a build thread (or should I say a rebuild thread) in time to come as it will be a slow build.

G'day Terry and Clint,

Good to have you around, you already seem to be pretty adept technically, so I hope the place has what you need to keep going with your projects..

Hi all

My name's Aidan - 30-something dad of two little monsters. Live in Bonbeach VIC - always been a bike guy, but a couple of far-too-close calls have left me looking for something safer. But importantly, still fun :-) So here I am looking to dip a toe into the world of Mini's...

Loads of questions (been doing loads of reading here though) but seems like you're a pretty easy going bunch... Cheers!

Welcome Aiden...how's the local Footy team going? I used to play against them back in the mid 60's (no...not 1860s for the smar tarses)

Thanks mate! 'Tis a fantastic little corner of the world here for sure... Love being so close to the beach and the river - and great for wearing the kids out too... The Sharks are still doing alright - plenty of members I believe but I can't say as I follow 'em too closely... Auskick seems to be higher on my priority list these days for some reason!

G'day Snoop,

West side Melb is great for minis for shizzle.

The 99 is my favorite of the later minis. I would like to pick one up in the future myself. Love to see some images as well.
