Hi there, my name is Tim. I recently bought my first Mini. A 1965 roundnose, Link 1275 motor.... So much fun to fang around. I've got much to learn but am enjoying myself as I piece it all together. I've joined the Vic Mini Club and intend to get along to a few events starting next weekend with the half bay in a day drive. I'm tight for space at my current residence but have a project in me if I can find some room. I love the website and all the Minis.
Cheers

The VMCI will have great events. I hope you'll find what you're after on here.

Hi all,

I am Matt, I live in Adelaide, and I have just finished a four and half year rebuild of our Mini K, "Edith" for my wife, who is an English nurse, so she suits the car very well.

An english nurse in a mini? I hope she drives to work with that little white hat on. It's a perfect pairing :)

Welcome Tomas.
That mini looks familiar. Was there a build thread for this car?

Hey Scoop,

I'm not too sure on that one, if anyone can clarify it'd be interesting to see the thread!

Cheers

So I have been around for a while, and have been meaning to do one of these. Refer to below for my 78 Leyland Mini which is pretty nearly up to where I want it =D few things left to do.

Fairly new to mini'ing, but have learnt alot over the last few months, which is great, the amount of knowledge on here is amazing.

Other activities include sailing and alot of PC gaming (no I do not believe PC gaming is the master race). I also currently work as a structural Draftsman for the industrial sector.

Hi Guys and Girls, I'm one of the thousands of POMEs who migrated to Aus. Been here just over nine years now and have loved every minute of it!

I'm a Mini fan from way back. My dad taught me to drive in an Pickup (ute) with 1275 motor (felt pretty nippy at the time) and I then acquired an 850 (aged 11!). My first legal car was the vulnerable 998 round nose that served me well, especially with 6" x 10" steel wheels and newly released Yokohama 165/70/10 A008 tyres! It wasn't very fast in a straight line, but would hold its own on the UK country lanes!

I eventually upgraded to a clubman 1275 GT with Avonbar 1293 engine and stage 3 head. Awesome little car that used to keep up with Peugeot 205 GTIs! That was my last Mini until coming to Aus and buying an unfinished project from a guy with baby number two in the way had to admit defeat and sell one of his fleet.

I didn't need it, but impulse took over and week later it was sat on my drive!

I've asked the question in another thread as to whether I should sell and what it's worth, as so far, after two years I haven't touch it. I have a Jag XJ6 and a Renault 5 GT Turbo to thank for that.

As you can see from the join date, Ive been lurking for some time, dreaming about what route I'd take with the resto. I've even been to a few historic race meets to see some old skool cars giving their best.

Look forward to getting more involved.

Woz

Hi Everyone,

I have been around a while but left the scene for a while. Well im back and getting stuck into my van.

The old (green) shell is quite rusty and im no good at bodywork so bought a pretty rust free shell and am in the process of swapping everything over. Motor and driveline are in good condition, will do the bushes and a few bits and pieces during the process.

I will be on a bit asking questions as im a bit rusty and may need a hand along the way.

As it sits at the moment.

Cheers
Richard

Hi everyone. Well it has been over 9 years since I was last on here. Well kind of.
You see - I joined in 2005 and then somehow managed re-join in 2008. It must be old timers disease.
I bet you cant guess what username I have been using for the past 7 years without realising I had 2 accounts.

Hint it starts with GTO and ends in 1969

Welcome back GTO, welcome Arnaud, welcome Richard and welcome Woz. I'm a POME myself and I'll have been here for 9 years in April. Currently have a resto of my own but being 16, it's not as hot as yours have been. Just a slightly tuned 1100 to start with while I get my full license and in the meantime, I'll be building the engine I always wanted it to have, a bored and stroked 1275 out to maybe 1430m with a BMW twin cam, twin carbs and a nice little exhaust made specifically for my car.
