Dumped the oil and filter from the moke.
Went to fit the new filter I ordered only to find it's the wrong type.
My own fault, I just assumed that the 1275 export moke motor would have used a cooper/850 type filter.

Damn, very easy mistake to make, bet you don't do it again.
You want the Ryco R2200P or equivalent. The Export Moke has the Australian made Ryco filter head and not the slightly smaller UK Purolator filter head.

Finished off the wheel alignment bars per David Rosenthal's pattern ready to do the alignment when it's all back together and sitting on the ground again.

Tuned the HS6 on the 1412. It's pretty good now all the way to 6000, if I want more I guess the MSC manifold will get some surgery.

Cut out a patch of rust in the rear quarter panel. Only to find much more rust lurking behind, looks like someone spilt something in the rear seat pocket and its slowly rusted itself from the inside out. Probably couldn't be in a worse spot.

Getting ready to drop out the front sub frame so I can replace my steering rack. 1st time I've touched poor Sonic in a week or two :( at least I can say it's been raining like mad up here for pretty much all of that time anyway  .
By the way, if you pull the rod out of the clutch slave cylinder and fluid pours out it's safe to assume it's leaking and needs a hone :?:

Yep. Hone it properly and stick new seals in, and it'll outlast the rubbish new ones.

It's a Rover vetro slave so I already consider it new (even though it's 20 years old now  ).

Installed two reconditioned drive shafts - new CVs, new grease, new boots.

Finally got my 4 wheel alignment done at Stuckey Tyres, plus 2 new A-008's fitted on the front.

Firstly what a difference new supple/flexible rubber makes to the ride quality. No I'm not talking about handling or grip, but just the smoothness and lack of 'patter' of the ride. The rear tyres will be ditched for new rubber ASAP, after I recover financially from Christmas!

I also scored some NOS ROH emblems for my ROH contessa mags. :D Note: I took the last ones he had, sorry. 8)

Jim

Hang on... You have A008s on the front and you have what on the rear?
And you are going to wait till after Christmas to fit new rears?
Will you be driving the car like this?
