Speaking of MiniSpares.Com, MiniMania.com etc. Anyone else noticed the AussieDirect site has been unavailable for about the last two weeks?

What a pisser, coz I know for a fact that the prices the yanks have to pay through Minimania, are even higher than ours. Looks like shopping through Minispares, and converting the difference has to be THE way :-(

Ausmini orders shipped from MiniSpares anyway. Prices didn't include freight. I just use the MiniSpares site- always have. Forget MM unless it's for something MS don't sell. Their prices are way too dear, and don't include shipping to Oz either.
And, their prices are in US$, so don't get caught...

NO it's different. ausdirect was just a virtual shop, it was really MiniSpares UK in Oz$.

But MM is a separate company, in Nevada City Ca, and the prices they show are ex stock Nevada City in US$. Their product range is a bit different too.

It also pays to shop around over there as there are always specials etc

I've used Mini Spares UK and
Mini Sport UK - http://shop2.minispeed.co.uk/classic/
DSN - http://www.dsnclassics.co.uk
Avonbar racing - http://www.speedgenie.co.uk/avonbar
Midland Wheel Suppliers https://www.midlandwheelsshop.com

All are very good but I like Mini Spares UK the best as they use UPS and delivery to the door. I have yet to be charge duties on any there orders but everything else that goes via the post office I have had to pay 15% Duties and GST

I agree that it is always cheaper to buy for UK regardless of freight and you don't have to leave the house!

Cheapest place in Oz for Mini parts is Karcraft in Silverwater NSW http://www.karcraft.com.au/home.php

Just watch the freight from OS can be more than the goods you are buying. I now only buy the Mini Spares specials and clearance items if they are a bargain otherwise my first port of call is Karcraft.

From another post, somewhere on this forum-

we are currently allowed A$1,000 via post or A$250 via courier (UPS etc) before 15% duty and 10% GST kick in.

So I now ALWAYS get them sent airmail, and tell MiniSpares WHY... 8)

I agree with Kevin, have things posted, even slow boat if heavy and you can wait. I have not yet been caught for duty or GST even on a $400 order by UPS but I always hold my breath

stay away from bigger dealers they are rip offs, ie mini sport they are the most expensive even over here, if your after the best or just infomation ask me, the best looking cap is the smaller ones, not the one that use original cap, cause they are just huge and ugly, the wipers can found cheap, see over here there are 10 at least traders selling at shows they all compete so knock down prices Ill look at a list if you want and give you a rough price and then can post it for you, payment through pay pal works best
