Any half competent driver can pass the driving test, it doesnt prove you can drive it just proves you can pass a test, insurance companies charge more for young drivers because they are more likely to make a mistake and have an accident, why because they lack experience. Taxi drivers are the worst for breaking the rules and they are sopposedly professional drivers. The guy who holds the lap record for minis at wakefield park is 60+ years of age, the young complain because the old generalise about the young and you are doing exactly the same thing now about older drivers

yer just cos ur older doesnt mean your a shitty driver, having said that when my dad lived in england he had his brand new mgb-gt and some old bloke pretty much waited at an intersection that was clear untill my dad came past, when my dad was coming past he pulled out and wrecked the side of dads car with my mum and there doberman in the back, the old guy had the cheak to get out and say, you just hit us!!! and yet dad was on the main part of the road, and he was side swiped!

Just got back from work, ugh so depressing driving it around. I feel like sticking a big sign saying 'IT WASN'T MY FAULT!' on the side :(.

The old lady was driving a ford falcon station wagon and apparently couldn't see my car over the back of hers.

The dint on the door was from her car, wasn't there already.

And she wasn't an old granny lady with 5 inch thick glasses, she seemed faily competant, probably in her 60s... just bad luck on both our parts, although I think she must have been reversing a bit too fast to doo that much damage given my car was right on ther kerb and isn't all that wide!

Got to say my biggest winge are drivers that are uninsured and unlicenced.

I know of a few some as young as 18 and others in ther 40's. My wife took out my company car one night (a couple of years ago now) it was only 3 weeks old when an unsured and unlicensed lady took out the rear quater panel. I was not impressed.

How anyone could not see your Mini behind them is beyond me

They have trouble seeing over the FRONT of the car let alone the rear! :)

No idea but she was reversing out of a driveway and the road couldn't be much longer then the full length of a stationwagon...

That very upsetting! Hope you can get it fixed soon. Still driveable obviously, but she should have been paying more attention. That mini was my baby for a fair while.

Maybe that is a good idea. I daresay my 400hp car (I love it but it still isn't a mini :( ) with huge brakes, good suspension and NO SUBWOOFER driven by an ever so slightly leadfooted 21yo is safer than Granny's original 120Y which has never had the brakes or suspension looked at

screw yearly checks, its just more money and headaches for you. the amount of things that would be picked up on would be stupid (if its the same as in england) and i dont think a reversing granny has anything to do with a check on the car, they willl still manage it with a safer car
