haha awsome, i might do that to mine.. just out of curiosity how long rough estimate has it taken u to rub back and spray your clubby coz the old man and i r seriously considering doing it to mine... at the moment its country cream.. such a disgusting colour. but im thinking more down the lines of tahitti blue like the rover minis, with racing stipes down the bonnet, and white flares.. what do u rekon? is it worth the effort or do you think im better off going to get it dun by a pro.

its alot of work.....but it will cost u like 4-5000 bucks prob to get done professionaly.
but you pay for what you get. it would be alot better if u can get a pro to do it on the side at his house for like 500..
the car will look so much better after the spray job.

its the prep work that is the hardest bit.

the chrome spray is more of a shiny silver paint then a chrome..... but its ok......

photo update....

i have coated all the floor, parcel shelf and boot with a bitchumen paint to keep the water out and reduce rattles and roadnoise.

thanks heaps for all the info and your time to reply.. i just have 1 more question, can you recall roughly how much it has cost you to do it yourself?, as aposed to the hefty 4-5k id pay in a pro shop for such a small car, im not to worried about the finished product because im a confident sprayer and have done of this kind of stuff before.. i have take a few pics of my car but how do i add them on here so i can show u?, (and for future use) im sure you will agree with me on the ugly colour..haha

Great job there squire - it shows that time in and prep make all the difference. Yes a little orange peel but hey - minis came off the factory floor with orange peel!!!

As for the blue engine - join the club - mine was VHT in a tin(ford comp blue) and a heat gun(burn the shite on!) cost - $20 for 3 tins(Supercrap sale and defence 10 percent on top!)

I painted a lincoln in black and it was a trial and a big effort - took hours of one mixing all the time and me spraying. I looked like Al Jolson afterwards(actually looked like a Panda after the mask was removed!!!). I went through nearly 15 litres of paint alone - not counting primer!!

Hooroo and good luck with the finishing
